Correlating structural characteristics 

Although static physical tests serve many design purposes, models used for vibro-acoustic simulations usually require systematic test-based validation of dynamic properties. LMS Virtual.Lab Correlation assists in the correlation with physical test results and in the preparation of structural tests. The availability of a comprehensive toolset significantly facilitates the comparison of simulated and measured mode shapes, operational deflection shapes and response functions. Using original FE model as a basis to provide indications regarding optimal positions and required number of excitation and response points help avoid testing errors and double work. 

Validation-driven model updating
 

Deducing where to improve a model judging by the outcome of validations is not always obvious. To facilitate the updating of models driven by validations, LMS Virtual.Lab Correlation offers specialized features that identify specific locations that need improvement. For example, it is capable of running sensitivity analyses that efficiently retain the most influential parameters from the ones specified. The possibility is also offered to automatically update models on the basis of internal and external algorithms, such as Nastran Solution 200, which focus on tuning modal frequencies and response functions.
